New students/returning to in-person students - WOW! It was quite the week with the add of a few new students to the district and some that decided last minute to change to in-person learning. No matter the reason....we welcome them to Tanner! Tuesday will be a busy day getting everyone settled and into the routine. Please reach out if you need any support throughout the week.
Letter Sounds interactive activity - Found this online. Might be something to consider in 4K and 5K to add to your rotations/centers. Enjoy!
COVID Vaccine - If you need to leave this week for the vaccine and need any help with coverage (some of you may have made the Wednesday list) just let me know and we will figure it out together. Thank you!
Virtual 5K - Welcome, Jordan McCarthy! - She will be taking over Katie's morning classes. Katie will be able to resume her role as fulltime Special Education. Jordan will be working with Katie this week and take over the class officially on the 1st.
Welcome, Liz Walker! - Liz Walker has been hired as a long term sub to cover any areas that pop up in the elementary schools from day to day. Her home base will be Tanner, starting on the 26th.
Welcome back, Kathy V. and Mary H.! - Happy to have these two back in the building this week!
ACCESS Testing Window - The testing window will run from Feb. 22-April 30. The state provided a bit longer of a window this year given the current circumstances. Lori is working on a schedule for both in-person and virtual EL students. As you receive the schedule, please note that students are not REQUIRED to complete any of the work they miss. You can offer the work to them, but they cannot be required or penalized for missing it. Also, she is servicing and assessing all KASD elementary EL students this year. Please be patient during this process and let Lori or I know if you have any questions. The hope it to be completed with the assessing by the end of March. More to come!
Valentine's - Have you communicated your Valentine plan with families? If not, please try to give them a heads up of your plan (if you have one) as I noticed the Valentine's on the shelves this weekend and was reminded of this change. Valentine's Day falls in the middle of the long weekend this year, so maybe the impact will not be as great. 👍
